WHAT IS “WATERFED” CLEANING?
Purified water cleaning systems, also known in the cleaning industry as “waterfed”, have become a staple to pro window cleaners across the globe!
These types of systems allow us to work safely at height (up to 40′!) from ground level, greatly reducing the number of on-site ladder falls and accidents. All while providing a professional spot-free finish on your windows or solar panels!
We use an extendable pole and brush, attached by hose to a three stage DI (or de-ionizing) filtration system that removes all particles and contamination from the source.
In keeping with our tradition of supporting and providing service to local businesses, we’re proud to use professional XERO brand waterfed cleaning equipment that is designed, manufactured, and tested locally here in Orange County, NY!

Do you use any cleaning solutions or chemicals?
No, we do NOT use any chemical additives or solutions mixed in our purified water!
Over use of harsh chemicals and abrasives goes against everything we stand for at Bell Street! When we do need soaps for our various traditional hand cleaning techniques, we only use professional grade eco-friendly biodegradable products.

Do you clean solar panels?
Yes! We use professional tools and equipment specifically designed for safe and effective solar panel cleaning.
Solar panels in particular require the use of DI water when cleaning, as an unfiltered garden hose can and will leave mineral stains and deposits on the panel surface.
It is advisable to contact a professional when you consider solar panel cleaning!

Does Bell Street install or maintain solar panels?
We do not provide maintenance service or installation of solar panels and accessories.
However, it is important to make sure your solar panels are in safe working order before we begin our cleaning service! We will perform a photo inspection to identify any potential cracks or damage to the panel surface, and inform you of the results.
Is this similar to pressure washing?
The only similarity is that both systems use water.
Instead of high pressure, we use an extendable pole with a soft bristled brush which is connected to our purified water cleaning system. We use the same pressure as the source tap. We do NOT suggest using a pressure washer on window glass or solar panels, ever!
Does it cost more to use this service?
No! Every home or business is unique, and we will determine the best way for us to clean your windows. Certain situations may require a traditional approach to cleaning, and we’re more than happy to use our ladders, scrubbers, and squeegees! A combination of traditional cleaning techniques and modern pure water technology allows us the flexibility to use the right tool for the job!
